The modern day ophelia.

PRODUCER, DIRECTOR, CINEMATOGRAPHER & EDITOR.

Ophelia was first in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, where she takes her own life by drowning.  Since then, Ophelia has become a vital representation of femininity and insanity. Focusing on her story, not her death.
In my depiction, I used red to signify Ophelia’s allure and attempt for power whilst using pink tones of the water to soften her, representing weakness of women in modern society.
This all derived from living through the demise of my parent’s marriage and the impact it had on specifically, my Mother.
